Third division Alcoyano created a sensation in the 1/16 finals of the King`s Cup in Spain after eliminating champions Real Madrid after extra time at their own stadium. In the regular time the match ended 1:1, and in overtime with a man less Alcoyano reached a complete turnaround and continues to advance in the tournament. Eder Militao scored the goal for Madrid at the very end of the first half. Ten minutes before the end of regular time Jose Solbes equalized for the hosts and scored the match in overtime. In them, things did not look good for Alcoyano, especially after the team was left with one person less, but in the 115th minute Real paid for their distracted game. Then Juanan scored for 2:1 and Madrid did not have time to react, after sleeping for two hours before.
Thus, Real Madrid became the second elite victim for Alcoyano, who eliminated Huesca with 2:1 at home in the previous round. A curious fact is that Real coach Zinedine Zidane never won the King`s Cup as a player and coach during his stay at the Santiago Bernabeu. As a footballer he has lost two finals, and as a coach he has reached the quarterfinals the most.
